Welcome to Holzwege Life Consulting Institute!

At Holzwege, we recognize that life is not a straight road but a winding forest path—uncertain, rich with meaning, and often without clear markers. In this spirit, we welcome you to an institute committed to walking with those who seek direction, clarity, and depth in their lives.

The field of life consulting is an emerging one—distinct from, yet inspired by, more established professions like life coaching or psychotherapy. Unlike these fields, life consulting currently lacks standardized certifications, regulatory bodies, or widespread academic recognition. However, its strength lies in its interdisciplinary foundation and holistic vision.

Life consulting draws insight and structure from respected domains such as:

  • Life Coaching – for motivation, goal-setting, and personal growth
  • Philosophical Counseling – for reflective dialogue and ethical inquiry
  • Existential Therapy – for meaning-making in the face of uncertainty
  • Spiritual Direction – for inner listening and connection to the sacred
  • End-of-Life Care and Death Doula Work – for support during life’s final transitions

As more people seek non-clinical, spiritually informed, and meaning-centered guidance, life consulting is gaining traction—especially in contexts of transition, aging, legacy, and purpose.

At Holzwege, we offer not just training, but a deep invitation: to walk the wooded paths with others, not to lead them out, but to walk alongside them in courage, wonder, and reflection.

Welcome to the journey.

Institute for Life Consulting and Meaningful Living

Training Program Curriculum

Program Duration: 6–12 Months
Format: Modular (Online/In-Person)

Program Overview

Life consulting is an emerging field that integrates spiritual, philosophical, and reflective guidance for individuals seeking purpose, clarity, or end-of-life meaning. While not yet fully standardized or regulated like psychotherapy or life coaching, life consulting draws from well-established practices such as philosophical counseling, existential therapy, spiritual direction, and personal development. As more people seek holistic, meaningful, and non-clinical support, life consulting continues to gain recognition as a transformative path for guiding others through major life transitions.

The Institute for Life Consulting and Meaningful Living is dedicated to two core missions: providing transformational life consulting services to individuals seeking clarity, meaning, or closure, and training future professional life consultants. Life consulting integrates insights from adjacent fields such as life coaching, existential therapy, spiritual direction, pastoral counseling, personal development mentorship, narrative therapy, end-of-life care, and philosophical counseling. This curriculum equips participants with the philosophical, psychological, and spiritual tools needed to guide others. Through reflective practices, dialogue, and applied learning, students will become effective life consultants.
